31 Value of What You Sell

Gone are the days when people will buy what you sell.  Also, a long-established brand may not bring in sales.  Look at the dismal sales of Samsung phones in 2023 you'll realize that what customers want is nothing but an increase in their value.

Value to an individual could mean more convenience, faster productivity and a reduction in cost.
  1. Increase in income. Your product or service must ultimately lead to an increase in income for your clients, whatever you are selling.  '
  2. Reduction in cost, which can be current and future costs
  3. Reduction in wastage
  4. Lower transaction and inconvenience cost
  5. Cut down on future repair and maintenance costs
  6. Higher productivity
  7. Lower overheads (over income)
  8. Better risk management, and lower risk
  9. Improvements in cash flow
  10. Better branding and image, resulting in higher income
  11. Ease of use, resulting in higher productivity
  12. A Happier You and/or your team, giving higher income
  13. Better utilization of capital and other resources, resulting in higher income
  14. Better compliance with government and other environmental regulations, leading to lower cost
  15. More convenience, giving rise to more income
  16. More time for you to do more value-added activities, resulting in higher income
  17. Fewer complaints and problems, leading to lower cost
  18. Better control and management, leading to lower cost
  19. Leaps in strategic management and leadership, resulting from the above
  20. Lowering stress level
  21. More efficient use of human capital
  22. Better deployment of financial capital, leading to higher business value
  23. More free time to pursue higher value activities like strategizing
  24. Compete better in the marketplace, resulting in higher income
  25. Peace of mind
  26. Better physical health
  27. Better mental health
  28. Higher energy from all the above
  29. A sense of contribution to the world, resulting from the above
  30. Better self-image, leading to higher income
  31. Do more with less
I could go on and on: but the point is all salespeople must be able to increase value for their customers or they are just wasting customers' time and money.

If Not You, Who Else?

I learnt this very powerful 5-word phrase from Singapore's highest ever box-office movie ever: "Ah Boys to Men II". In one scene, the recruits were about to start their 3-day field camp.  Their Officer-in-Command asked them, "Before we moved out, anybody not feeling well?"  All the soldiers replied loudly, "No Sir!!!" "Gentlemen", continued the Officer, "Every time the training gets tougher, one thought comes to your mind, 'Why Must I Serve National Service?' "My answer to you is, 'If Not You, Then Who Else?'" Wow!  What a powerful phrase!  If Not You, Who Else may mean: You are the most suitable person, and we can't find anyone better than you.  This is appreciation at the highest level How can you push this responsibility to someone else? I am making a request to you specifically, please don't reject my request Can you find me another person more suitable than you? Please refer me anot...

Kindness as a Way of Life by Andy Ng Kindness is a universal language that transcends cultural boundaries, enriches human connections, and has the power to transform lives. It goes beyond mere acts of charity or random good deeds. To me, kindness, when practiced as a way of life, becomes a profound philosophy that can shape our interactions with others, the world around us, and even our own well-being. In this article, we will explore the multifaceted aspects of kindness as a way of life, touching on non-violent communication, the limitations of traditional charity, the potential harms of helping, the deliberate cultivation of kindness, and the incredible rewards it brings. 1.       Non-Violent Communication Non-violent communication (NVC) is a key component of practicing kindness as a way of life.
