AI Replaced Trainers but Not This Trainer

With new AI like Manus that can do not just the information gathering (ChatGPT) and thinking (DeepSeek) but also the execution, what does this leave humans with?  Actually, my extensive experience (29 years) as a trainer positions me perfectly to focus on uniquely human skills that AI like Magnus will struggle to replicate in the near term. Here’s a breakdown of high-value areas to emphasize, along with actionable strategies for my training programs: 1. Emotional Intelligence (EQ) & Human Connection Why AI struggles: AI lacks genuine empathy, intuition, and the ability to read subtle emotional cues (e.g., body language, tone shifts). Focus areas: Empathy & Trust-Building: Train leaders to navigate emotionally charged conversations (layoffs, conflicts) and foster psychological safety. Active Listening: Teach techniques to decode unspoken needs in teams or clients. Inclusive Leadership: Help leaders recognize and address biases AI might inadvertently amplify. Action: Design w...

Show Me the Money Business

As a Trainer Coach specialising in sales, management and executive skills targeting audience from China to Singapore, people often asked us what business are we in.   We are in the Show Business. You see, as a Trainer Coach, we are there not to talk or deliver a program, but to put on a show.  What do we show?  Other than showing our body and learned mind, we also show them our heart and most importantly, our  spirit or passion .   Trainers are there to show people the proven paths, strategies, stratagems and methods to get more done with less. Experts called this Productivity and Work Effectiveness.  We are also there to show the leaders and managers that they too can transform their organizations if they lead and manage effectively. For people in sales, customer service and marketing, we show them the winning ways - how to win over the most difficult customers, crack the sales code and even sell ice to the Eskimos!   For people that...

The Purpose of Training is Not What Most People Think

Mention the word training and most people would think of going back to school. Some will equate training to those long sessions into the nights where you would be challenged to do the impossible like cutting a cane with your neck.  There are some who think that training is for people who are not up to the par, high performers, they say, do not need training. Recently, most people know that training is a competitive tool to outsell your competition, for the government's PIC scheme gives 60% cash or 400% tax deduction for training. Yet we know deep inside use that the purpose of training is not the accumulation of knowledge and skills, but the use and application of such knowledge and skills to bring about change withi n us .  For when we change, then would our teamwork and organization change.  The teachings of trainers is to help us develop a good mindset so that we can think and act skilfully, not randomly.  Then the productivity and profits of the organizat...

How to Be More Successful in Whatever You're Doing Now

One: Make Sure You Add Value To know whether you add value in doing anything, ask yourself this question: is there a difference had I not done this ?  Not only must there be a difference, you must also do things differently. Like Apple's iPhone in 2007: not only do they make handphones, they also started a trend of no-keyboard. Two: Communicate Down and Up, Inside and Out Of course the most important communication is with yourself: what you say to yourself when you are all by yourself.  They call this self-talk, which is  thinking hard within yourself.    Of course you don't really need to verbalize and let people hear what you are saying to yourself! Three: Know How to Deliver Results This means you must have competency and commitment, for you need both to deliver, not just talk Four: Conduct Yourself and Your Business with Integrity To me integrity is defined as n ot taking anything that you are not given , including time, information, emotion...
