22 IMMUTABLE LAWS OF SELLING BY ANDY FERRARI NORMAN

THE 22 IMMUTABLE LAWS OF SELLING’ book  written by Andy Ferrari Norman is a wonderful book. I just re-read it and find that if you just use 3 ideas, your business will explode.  Here are my top 10 favourite laws:  Law of Facts Tell, Stories Sell  – People buy stories, and if you can personalise your stories, the more they will buy. Never just provide facts without a story, for nobody remembers facts but we all remember stories for life Law of Products  – if your products sucks, no great selling can make them sell. But great selling can make ordinary products sell. That's why it is so important to be good in selling Law of Mind Selling  – the mind must buy first before the body can pay Law of Perception  – selling is  not a battle of products  but a  battle of perceptions .  All truth is relative.   The only reality you can be sure about is in your own perceptions.  Seling is a  manipulation of perceptions . If you cannot perceive it, you cannot buy it Law of Motivation  –

No wonder it's either Apple or Samsung: The 3 Immutable Laws of Marketing

I just re-read THE 22 IMMUTABLE LAWS OF MARKETING’ book written by Al Ries and Jack Trout and many ideas already exploded in my little mind.   You can read the full list of 22 laws at our previous article at here . As at today Samsung and Apple both controlled over 52% of the world's smartphone market share out of over 40 players.  Samsung and Apple successes can be attributed to the 3 laws: Law of Sacrifice .  This is the opposite of Law of Extension.  It says that if you want to be successful, you need to give up something.  For Samsung, they give up software control, for they use Google's Android instead of their own Tizen operating system. For Apple's iPhone, they give up screen size so that the users can have a easy one-hand operation.  Note that the rumoured iPhone 6 coming up in June 2014 will have a larger 4.7 inch option, but this is still much smaller than Samsung Galaxy Note 4 coming up in July 2014 which will have 5.9 inch.  Law of Attribute .  This sta

No Wonder It's Either iPhone or Samsung Galaxy: What I Learnt from 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing

‘THE 22 IMMUTABLE LAWS OF MARKETING’ book written by Al Ries and Jack Trout is a wonderful book. I just re-read it (after 10 years) and find that if you just use 3 ideas, your business will explode.  1.      Law of Leadership – it’s better to be the first than it is to be better.  People tend to stick with what they’ve got and reluctant to change. Eg iPhone or Android phone.  2.      Law of Category – if you can’t be first in a category set up a new category you can be first in.   Prospects are defensive when it comes to brands – but they have open minds when it comes to categories because everyone is interested in what’s new and not what’s better. 3.      Law of Mind – it’s better to be the first in the mind than to be the first in the marketplace .  Being first in the marketplace is important only to the extend that it allows you to get in the mind first.  Once a mind is made up, it rarely changes.   If you want to make a big impression on another person, you hav
