Re-Opening and You: The Top 7 Things to Know from 1 April 2022

From 1 April 2022, Singapore has re-opened and life is almost back to pre-COVID days, except for the need to mask up in indoors and do contact tracing.

What it Means:
1. Online activities like Zoom meetings, zoom training, etc will become less attractive (except for overseas people). People prefer physical meetings. If you throw in FREE meals, your attendance is guaranteed to be higher than others.

2. Expect jams and delays in transport, and people may resort to online meetings to avoid delays and reduce transit time

3. Networking events, trade shows, exhibitions, and road chows will resume. People can once again replenish their database with real people with real contacts

4. Online Scams will be reduced because people's online time is reduced. But frauds and scams involving physical meetings and buyers remorse will increase. This is because people will be tempted to make hasty decisions at physical events (e.g. buy expensive training courses after attending a FREE preview).

5. Entertainers and the entire entertainment industry will once again gain their glory days.Getai will be as popular as ever, as watching live shows is more enjoyable than watching YouTube Live

6. Work from home will be the for the minority (at least for now, 75% can work not from home). This means companies will have higher need for physical activities, eg birthday celebrations, announcements and town hall meetings.

7. Tourism, aviation, and leisure industries will experience huge growth, anything from 30% to 75% growth. Be ready to pay for more for such things as these industries have suffered too long and they need to now make the most to make up for the shortfall in the past 2 years.
