What an Executive Coach and Business Coach Does

What Do Coaches Do?

People often asked me what do I as a Business and Executive Coach do. Do I teach people, motivate people and counsel people?  As a coach, what make me able to help people that are more experienced than me?  Do I only cover soft skills and not focus on hard skills?  Why should anyone pay me to coach them?  Can people do self-coaching?' The answer to the above questions is simply this: a coach does one and only thing: solve problems. We help our customers solve their problems. Note that we don't help people solve the symptoms of their problems , which is what most consultants do. For example, if your company's sales is down, consultants and trainers would tell you to train your salespeople, make your products and services more attractive and so on. As a coach I go to the root of the problem, which could be simply your company is serving the wrong market and your sales compensation scheme is not attracting more sales. How do we go to the root of your problem? ...

What's Wrong with Young People Being a Uber Full-time Driver?

(You can watch the short 3-minute video on this at here ) TODAY news reported that more and more young people below the age of 30 are now driving Uber and Grab full time.  They seem happy with it and many said that they will continue driving them as long as possible.  So sad. There's nothing wrong with driving a cab but young people are supposed to be in high demand and driving Uber or Grab should be the last resort and not the first choice.  It is like you are young and you can have a very active life but you are extremely happy staying at home all the time. There is nothing wrong except that you are missing out on the good things in life . You see when you drive Uber or Grab you are missing out many things as compared with having your own career or business. That’s why people are afraid of ’serious’ loans. But it’s not the most important reason. **The thing is, the current generation of young people differs from their parents’ generation. They have other values.** The youth today has **reconsidered the concept of success**, which means:   ...
