A and B People from COVID-19

With the lockdown from COVID-19, it is very obvious to see the good quality people from the bad ones.

B PEOPLE - DO NOTHING

Those that treat the lockdown of no need to work and still get paid (although less, but it is okay because of no need to work) from their employer and in Singapore, from the Singapore government (each person gets $600 cash on 18 April 2020) as a pure holiday.  Actually, since January 2020, the whole economy is very slow and their work was already much less as compared to 2019. But nevertheless, they treat this as their well-deserved holiday.

They may stay at home and get entertained the whole day from the many free channels offered by Starhub and Singtel.  Some stay at home and get glued to COVID-19 news and videos, busy forwarding such news to people on WhatsApp and social media a few times an hour.  They know that 99.9% of such news are fake, but they are good news and they feel that by forwarding such news to people they are saving mankind.

Some go to supermarkets and stock up on beer and tidbits and enjoy themselves whole day long.  Some sleep a lot (wake up at 10 am and take 2 to 3 naps during the day).

Some get political and start criticising and making fun of what their governments have done or are doing. They derive much fun from talking about such things.

The reason the above people do the above is not their fault. They were told that this COVID-19 will last another year, and the lockdown could be extended for long periods of time.  They also read that the rest of the world is also like that, so why do anything differently?  Also, the governments keep on telling them to stay at home, and they are doing that diligently. Isn't these what we are supposed to do?

Of course, these people did not read or don't bother on what China and Wuhan are doing now: they are back to work and enjoying a mini-boom in the economy.  They also didn't realise that China and Wuhan took 73 days from lock-down to normal and what happened to China could also happen to their home too.

A PEOPLE - MORE BUSY THAN BEFORE

These people do the following:
  1. Convert their work from offline to online and still work as much as before. For example, my company conducts online seminars every day via Zoom and Facebook Live. In fact, I am busier now as I have to also complete my second book on WeChat.
  2. Learn everything they can online, be it to improve their work (like PDPA courses, WeChat). I downloaded many ebooks to read. I also want to finish watching YouTube videos on Yijing. Many trainers including myself are now conducting free or small-fee seminars on Zoom.  You can learn how to use Zoom properly from my other article at the links below
  3. Help out people online, like sharing their expertise for free. Every day I write one to two articles on this blog site www.AndyNgTrainer.blogspot.sg
  4. Use this golden opportunity to catch up on housework, tidy up their house, get close to their children and family or just do some quiet thinking.  Every day I talk to myself more and got many inspirations from the world.
  5. Plan for post-COVID.  To me after 5 May 2020, the world will be very different and will not go back to the past, you can read my article on this.
Let me know if you belong to the A or B people.  Thank you. Related articles:

Kindness as a Way of Life: How Kindness can Reward You 6 Times Over

Kindness as a Way of Life by Andy Ng Kindness is a universal language that transcends cultural boundaries, enriches human connections, and has the power to transform lives. It goes beyond mere acts of charity or random good deeds. To me, kindness, when practiced as a way of life, becomes a profound philosophy that can shape our interactions with others, the world around us, and even our own well-being. In this article, we will explore the multifaceted aspects of kindness as a way of life, touching on non-violent communication, the limitations of traditional charity, the potential harms of helping, the deliberate cultivation of kindness, and the incredible rewards it brings. 1.       Non-Violent Communication Non-violent communication (NVC) is a key component of practicing kindness as a way of life. Developed by Marshall B. Rosenberg, NVC emphasizes empathetic communication that seeks to understand and connect with others on a deeper level. It encourages active listening, empath

New Age Mobile Numerology

Many people look at 'mobile number change luck' with skepticism, they say, how can just one simple mobile number change create so many changes in a person's life?   Also, the mobile numbers are given to us by random by the telcos, how can our fate be assigned by the telcos at random? Besides, isn't it true that our lives and fates are determined by birth and what we do, how can a small mobile number, which is a modern invention, have any effect?  How about people in the past without mobile numbers?  You mean they don't have a life without mobile numbers, right? One more thing: you cannot just change your mobile number and expect your life to change. If this is so, wouldn't everybody be rich just by changing their mobile numbers? Finally, isn't this kind of fortune-telling thing more of psychology and blind faith than science?   If so, how can we trust anything that is not proven and not science? Today let's resolve all these doubts and I welcome your co

If Not You, Who Else?

I learnt this very powerful 5-word phrase from Singapore's highest ever box-office movie ever: "Ah Boys to Men II". In one scene, the recruits were about to start their 3-day field camp.  Their Officer-in-Command asked them, "Before we moved out, anybody not feeling well?"  All the soldiers replied loudly, "No Sir!!!" "Gentlemen", continued the Officer, "Every time the training gets tougher, one thought comes to your mind, 'Why Must I Serve National Service?' "My answer to you is, 'If Not You, Then Who Else?'" Wow!  What a powerful phrase!  If Not You, Who Else may mean: You are the most suitable person, and we can't find anyone better than you.  This is appreciation at the highest level How can you push this responsibility to someone else? I am making a request to you specifically, please don't reject my request Can you find me another person more suitable than you? Please refer me anot
