A “Nothing Much” Trainer?
Trainer for Sales, Leadership, SuperME & Sun Tzu Art of War
“You’re a Nothing Much Trainer.”
When a participant once told me,
“Andy, honestly… I learnt nothing much from your training,”
I smiled.
Most trainers would panic. Some would feel insulted.
But I saw something deeper — because “nothing much” might just be “something big.”
So instead of defending myself, I simply asked,
“Since you said ‘nothing much,’ that means you did learn something.Would you share it with me — so others can benefit too?”
What happened next changed how I saw training forever.
The Hidden Lessons Beneath “Nothing Much”
That same participant later shared five things that touched my heart —
five lessons he didn’t realise he had absorbed:
1. He discovered himself.
He saw who he really was — a person with fears, hopes, and dreams.
In one session, we made participants cut through a piece of wood using only an A4 paper —
a “SuperME moment” proving that what limits you is never the tool, but your belief.
2. He realised his company isn’t that bad.
After hearing stories from my 25 years of experience training over 13,000 people in 16 countries,
he found gratitude — a key SuperME energy — for what he already had.
3. He saw wisdom in the ordinary.
When I played movie clips like Peaceful Warrior and Entrepreneurs’ Era,
he learned that lessons are everywhere — if you have the eyes to see.
4. He stopped waiting.
In my class, everyone does something they’ve been postponing — right there and then.
As Sun Tzu said, “Do not wait for perfect conditions. Strike while the momentum is yours.”
5. He became a trainer himself.
I always end by asking participants to teach back what they’ve learned —
because when you teach, you transform.
And transformation is the ultimate goal of every SuperME journey.
The Truth About Transformation
At first glance, it looked like he learnt “nothing much.”
But in truth — he learnt the most important things:
self-awareness, gratitude, courage, and the power of action.
And that’s what SuperME is all about — discovering your inner strength.
That’s what Sun Tzu teaches — win without fighting, act with clarity, lead with strategy.
True learning doesn’t always shout.
Sometimes, it whispers.
It happens quietly… but it lasts a lifetime.
