Lao Tzu Dao De Jing and Love Intelligence

Many people can quote a famous line from Lao Zi's Dao De Ching: “Wu Wei Er Wu Bu Wei.” (Do nothing, yet nothing is left undone.) But many misunderstand it. They think Laozi is telling us to do nothing. If that were true, people would simply starve. That is not what Laozi meant. What he meant is simple: Do not act against the natural laws of things. There is a famous Chinese story called “Pulling Up the Seedlings to Help Them Grow.” A farmer thought his crops were growing too slowly. So he went into the field and pulled each seedling slightly upward. The next day, all the plants were dead. The problem was not that the farmer did nothing.
