Price is a distraction. Most people think they are being smart when they focus on price: cheaper is better, discounts are attractive, low cost feels like a win. But look deeper. When something is cheap, we often don’t value it. We don’t use it fully. We forget about it. We waste it. And when something is expensive, we suddenly pay attention. We use it more. We respect it more. So what’s really going on? The truth is this: Price has very little to do with value. Because value is not in the thing, value is in what we do with it. A simple example: A cheap meal can be priceless when you are hungry. An expensive meal can be worthless when you are full. So value is created by usage, not determined by price.
