8 Wisdom of Love over 2,600 Years

Across cultures, from Africa to Asia, from Europe to America,  2,600 years, and philosophies, these ideas agree on one point: Love is the energy that makes humans fully alive. 1. Dao De Jing 道德经 : Love as Flow (600 BCE, China) The soft overcomes the hard. Love transforms by flowing, not forcing. Laozi 老子 said,  “Water benefits all things and contends with none.” This is love in its purest form: gentle, humble, adaptable, yet unstoppable. 2. Confucius 孔子 : Love as Responsibility (500 BCE, China) Ren ( 仁 ) Humanity; De ( 德 ) Virtue. Confucius believed love is responsibility in action. To love someone is to help them become better. 3. Bhagavad Gita (200 BCE: Love as Duty (India) Do your work with devotion, not attachment. Krishna teaches that love is doing your highest duty with a peaceful heart. 4.
