Friends can know each other for half a lifetime. They talk every day. Yet they may never have had a deep conversation . We often mistake the frequency of conversation for the depth of connection. They are not the same. What Is a Deep Conversation? A deep conversation begins when we are willing to remove our masks. No pretending. No performing. No need to look strong, clever or successful. We allow another person to see something we normally hide, our fears, disappointments, insecurities, hopes and vulnerabilities. Imagine a husband comes home and tells his wife: “I was bullied at work today. I felt terrible.” What happens next?
