Love Intelligence (LQ): The 3Cs in Executive Coaching

One of the core tools we use in our Executive Coaching is Love Intelligence (LQ), structured around the 3Cs: Care, Courage, and Connection.

This framework is highly practical and applicable across almost all leadership situations — especially when an executive feels stuck, whether at work, in relationships, or internally.

1. Care begins with Gratitude

When leaders are under pressure, the mind naturally focuses on what is missing or going wrong. The first step to breaking this pattern is gratitude — a deliberate act of acknowledging what is already working.

Gratitude stabilises emotions, restores perspective, and creates the mental space needed for sound judgment. Without this foundation, any attempt to move forward is built on frustration.

2. Courage to refocus and act

Once emotional balance is restored, the next step is courage — the courage to interrupt negative thought loops and consciously refocus on what truly matters.

This is not about blind positivity. It is about doing the right thing: redirecting attention toward priorities, values, and achievable goals, and taking purposeful action from there.

3. Connection creates momentum

No one unsticks themselves in isolation. Sustainable progress requires new connections — with people, ideas, opportunities, and perspectives.

Whether in business or personal life, growth happens when leaders reconnect with the world beyond their current limitations. New connections generate new energy, options, and pathways forward.
