Gratitude in Love Intelligence

Gratitude Is a Virtue — and a Power. How Love Intelligence (LQ) Gives and Uses Gratitude

Gratitude is often misunderstood as politeness, positivity, or good manners.

In reality, gratitude is a form of intelligence — a way of seeing, interpreting, and responding to life.
It treats gratitude as a capacity that can be trained, applied, and leveraged.

The Core LQ Insight About Gratitude
It is about being aligned with life.
A Simple LQ Gratitude Practice (That Actually Works)
What helped you grow.
A line you can use publicly:
and the mind’s way of staying sane.
Love Intelligence turns gratitude into strength.”

When practised deeply, gratitude:

  • calms the nervous system

  • strengthens the immune response

  • stabilises emotions

  • improves judgment

  • restores perspective

  • protects mental health

That is why people with genuine gratitude tend to have healthier bodies and clearer minds.

Love Intelligence (LQ) does not treat gratitude as an emotion.

LQ gives us gratitude through its first foundation: Care.

Most people miss gratitude because they are busy chasing “more”.

LQ trains Care — the ability to notice:

  • what is already working

  • who is already supporting you

  • what your body is already doing right

  • what you have already survived

Gratitude begins with attention.

When attention shifts from “what’s missing” to “what’s present”,

This reduces stress hormones and restores emotional balance.

Gratitude becomes powerful when it is applied, not just felt.

This is where the other two Cs come in.

Gratitude without courage becomes complacency.

With gratitude, courage becomes:

  • the courage to protect your health

  • the courage to say no to what drains you

  • the courage to correct behaviour that harms relationships

  • the courage to honour opportunities instead of wasting them

You don’t take reckless risks when you are grateful for life.

This is why gratitude actually improves decision-making.

Unexpressed gratitude is incomplete.

LQ trains Connection — the ability to translate inner appreciation into relational energy.

When gratitude is expressed:

  • trust deepens

  • relationships strengthen

  • conflicts soften

  • cooperation increases

  • leadership credibility rises

People don’t follow intelligence alone.

Gratitude is one of the fastest ways to build human connection — when it is sincere.

Without LQ, gratitude is occasional.

LQ helps gratitude work at three levels:

  • Physiological: lowers stress, improves sleep, supports immunity

  • Psychological: reduces rumination, envy, resentment

  • Relational: increases trust, belonging, emotional safety

This is why gratitude is not weakness.

A regulated mind thinks better.

This is critical.

Love Intelligence does NOT teach:

  • “just accept everything”

  • “be grateful and tolerate abuse”

  • “be positive and avoid truth”

True gratitude in LQ is paired with Courage.

You can be grateful and set boundaries.

This is mature gratitude — not naïve gratitude.

Gratitude is not about liking life.

When alignment is present:

  • the body relaxes

  • the mind clears

  • the heart stabilises

That alignment is what Love Intelligence cultivates.

Once a day, ask just one question:

“What did today give me that helped me become stronger or wiser?”

Not what made you happy.

That single question trains:

  • Care (awareness)

  • Courage (learning)

  • Connection (meaning)

Over time, it builds resilience, health, and quiet power.

“Gratitude is the body’s way of healing,

If Not You, Who Else?

I learnt this very powerful 5-word phrase from Singapore's highest ever box-office movie ever: "Ah Boys to Men II". In one scene, the recruits were about to start their 3-day field camp.  Their Officer-in-Command asked them, "Before we moved out, anybody not feeling well?"  All the soldiers replied loudly, "No Sir!!!" "Gentlemen", continued the Officer, "Every time the training gets tougher, one thought comes to your mind, 'Why Must I Serve National Service?' "My answer to you is, 'If Not You, Then Who Else?'" Wow!  What a powerful phrase!  If Not You, Who Else may mean: You are the most suitable person, and we can't find anyone better than you.  This is appreciation at the highest level How can you push this responsibility to someone else? I am making a request to you specifically, please don't reject my request Can you find me another person more suitable than you? Please refer me anot...

How I Became a Fortune Teller: Leveraging NLP, Fear and Greed, and Motivational Theories

Becoming a fortune teller wasn’t part of my childhood dreams. It started as an experiment, fueled by my curiosity about human behavior and the subtle forces that drive our decisions. Over time, what began as a study of psychology and human interaction evolved into an unexpected career—one where I use the tools of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), the primal drivers of fear and greed, and motivational theories to help people uncover their paths. The First Step: Understanding the Human Psyche I was always fascinated by why people do what they do. During my university years, I studied psychology, particularly the works of Abraham Maslow, B.F. Skinner, and Victor Vroom. Their theories provided insights into motivation, reinforcement, and decision-making. But I wanted to move beyond the academic realm and see how these theories worked in real life. Around this time, I discovered NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming). This framework for understanding communication and behavior is based on the...
