How Google Hide a Dagger Behind Its Smile to Yahoo!

When Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin invented a search engine in 1998, their idea was to sell their technology to an existing IT company.
At that time Yahoo! was the number one search engine in the world, followed by others like AltaVista and AskJeeves. But no one wants to buy Google's search engine as it was unknown.
During this time, Yahoo! was busy evolving itself into a media company on the net, and they need to outsource their search engine service to a contractor. They found Inktomi.

Before Yahoo could appoint Inktomi as their search engine contractor, the Google's founders made a bold move.
Google's Larry and Sergey made a proposal to Yahoo! They told Yahoo!, smilingly, that they can do the search engine for Yahoo!  "Why should I pass it to you when you are a nobody?", asked Jerry Yang, CEO of Yahoo!
Google said that they will help Yahoo! to become more successful in media because Google's search engine will be very simple - just a blank search bar with no ads and no media.
"We will do our search engine differently from Inktomi. Because we don't want to be a media company, we just want to do searches. Yahoo's CEO Larry Yang was happy because he had found a contractor that can support him and yet will not pose any threat to his business.
By hiding their proposal behind a smile, Yahoo! replaced Inktomi with Google. Because of the fact that Yahoo! was the no. 1 search engine in the world, when Yahho used Google as its search engine, Google became the no. 1 search engine overnight.

If Not You, Who Else?

I learnt this very powerful 5-word phrase from Singapore's highest ever box-office movie ever: "Ah Boys to Men II". In one scene, the recruits were about to start their 3-day field camp.  Their Officer-in-Command asked them, "Before we moved out, anybody not feeling well?"  All the soldiers replied loudly, "No Sir!!!" "Gentlemen", continued the Officer, "Every time the training gets tougher, one thought comes to your mind, 'Why Must I Serve National Service?' "My answer to you is, 'If Not You, Then Who Else?'" Wow!  What a powerful phrase!  If Not You, Who Else may mean: You are the most suitable person, and we can't find anyone better than you.  This is appreciation at the highest level How can you push this responsibility to someone else? I am making a request to you specifically, please don't reject my request Can you find me another person more suitable than you? Please refer me anot...

In this article, we will explore the multifaceted aspects of kindness as a way of life, touching on non-violent communication, the limitations of traditional charity, the potential harms of helping, the deliberate cultivation of kindness, and the incredible rewards it brings. 1.       Non-Violent Communication Non-violent communication (NVC) is a key component of practicing kindness as a way of life.
