AI is Replacing Mechanical Jobs, Not Humans

AI is Replacing Mechanical Jobs, Not Humans

A few months ago, I asked AI to write an article for a government-linked organization.

Thirty seconds later, it produced something better than what many people could write in three hours.

I was impressed. Then I was worried.

Because if AI can write articles, answer questions, compose songs, generate images, create presentations and even write computer code...

What happens to us? Are humans becoming obsolete?

Today, I want to suggest something very different.

AI is not replacing humans.

AI is replacing mechanical jobs.

Let me show you through a few stories.

The first story is from my own life.

I was married for almost thirty years.

Imagine if I had an AI assistant twenty years ago.

The AI could have reminded me of birthdays. It could have drafted romantic messages.

It could have planned holidays. It could have suggested gifts.

But there was one thing it could never do.

It could not care for my wife. Because caring is not a task.

It is a choice.

You can automate reminders. You cannot automate genuine concern.

When someone is hurting and says, "I'm fine," AI may analyse the words.

But a human heart can feel the pain behind the words.

That is Love Intelligence.

And that is why relationships still matter in the AI era.

Now let me give you a second example.

Recently, I attended a karaoke competition.

There were singers who sang perfectly.

Every note was correct.  Every rhythm was accurate. Technically excellent.

But when they finished singing, nobody remembered them.

Then another singer came on stage. Not perfect. A few notes were off.

But everyone felt something. The audience became quiet.

Some smiled. Some teared.

Some started recording on their phones.

Why?

Because music is not about notes. It is about connection.

AI can generate songs.

But only humans can transform pain into meaning.

Only humans can make another human feel understood.

That is not intelligence. That is Love Intelligence.

Third story.

Many years ago, I worked as an auditor.

Today, AI can probably perform much of that work faster than I can. It can scan documents. Analyse transactions. Identify anomalies. Generate reports.

But imagine two companies.

Both receive exactly the same AI-generated financial report.

One CEO uses it wisely. The other ignores it.

One company grows. The other collapses.

What made the difference?

Not information.  Both had the same information.

The difference was judgement.

And judgement comes from values, experience, courage and wisdom.

AI can tell us what is happening.

Humans decide what should happen.

That is why leadership is becoming more important, not less.

Now let me share a story from the book SuperME Unleashed.

Many people think success comes from becoming smarter.

Working harder. Learning faster. Accumulating more skills.

But one of the biggest discoveries from SuperME is this:

People become extraordinary when they stop trying to become someone else.

They become powerful when they become more of themselves.

A machine can imitate. A machine can predict. A machine can reproduce.

But a machine cannot become you.

There is only one version of you in the entire universe.

Your experiences. Your scars. Your failures. Your lessons.

Your love. Your compassion. Your story.

That is your competitive advantage.

Not your technical skills. Not your certificates. Not your job title.

Your humanity.

Let me give you another demonstration.

Imagine two customer service officers.

The first says: "Your request has been processed. Thank you."

Perfect. Efficient. Correct.

Now the second says:

"I can see this issue has been frustrating for you. Let me personally help you solve it."

Same problem. Different impact. The customer remembers the second person.

Not because of efficiency. But because of humanity.

This is happening right now. In healthcare, education, leadership, sales and customer service.

The winners of the AI age will not necessarily be those who know the most AI.

The winners will be those who know how to remain human while using AI.

That is why I often say:

Love is not soft.

Love is practical.

Love creates trust.

Trust creates value.

Value creates wealth.

Now let me tell you one final story.

Recently someone asked me,

"Andy, what should I tell my child? AI is moving so fast. Jobs are disappearing."

I said:

Don't tell your child to compete with machines.

That battle is already lost.

Tell your child to become more human.

Learn empathy.

Learn courage.

Learn connection.

Learn how to listen.

Learn how to care.

Learn how to build trust.

Because when AI becomes abundant, humanity becomes scarce.

And scarce things become valuable.

That is the opportunity before us.

So if there is one thing I hope you remember tonight, it is this:

AI is replacing mechanical jobs.

But AI is also reminding us what it means to be human.

The future does not belong to humans who fight machines.

The future belongs to humans who use machines while strengthening their humanity.

That is the message behind my book, Love Intelligence.

It is not a book about romance.

It is a book about how Care, Courage and Connection create success, trust, wealth and meaning in a world increasingly dominated by technology.

If tonight's message resonates with you, I invite you to pick up a copy.

Love Intelligence is available at $35 for one copy.

Or bring a friend, spouse, child or colleague along the journey.

Two copies are only $39.90 (the other book coul be SuperME Unleashed).

Because perhaps the greatest skill of the AI age is not Artificial Intelligence.

It is Love Intelligence.

Thank you.

How I Became a Fortune Teller: Leveraging NLP, Fear and Greed, and Motivational Theories

Becoming a fortune teller wasn’t part of my childhood dreams. It started as an experiment, fueled by my curiosity about human behavior and the subtle forces that drive our decisions. Over time, what began as a study of psychology and human interaction evolved into an unexpected career—one where I use the tools of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), the primal drivers of fear and greed, and motivational theories to help people uncover their paths. The First Step: Understanding the Human Psyche I was always fascinated by why people do what they do. During my university years, I studied psychology, particularly the works of Abraham Maslow, B.F. Skinner, and Victor Vroom. Their theories provided insights into motivation, reinforcement, and decision-making. But I wanted to move beyond the academic realm and see how these theories worked in real life. Around this time, I discovered NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming). This framework for understanding communication and behavior is based on the...

If Not You, Who Else?

I learnt this very powerful 5-word phrase from Singapore's highest ever box-office movie ever: "Ah Boys to Men II". In one scene, the recruits were about to start their 3-day field camp.  Their Officer-in-Command asked them, "Before we moved out, anybody not feeling well?"  All the soldiers replied loudly, "No Sir!!!" "Gentlemen", continued the Officer, "Every time the training gets tougher, one thought comes to your mind, 'Why Must I Serve National Service?' "My answer to you is, 'If Not You, Then Who Else?'" Wow!  What a powerful phrase!  If Not You, Who Else may mean: You are the most suitable person, and we can't find anyone better than you.  This is appreciation at the highest level How can you push this responsibility to someone else? I am making a request to you specifically, please don't reject my request Can you find me another person more suitable than you? Please refer me anot...
