How to Break Through in Your Career and Business

How to Break Through in Your Career and Business with the 3Cs

Most people think success comes from skills, strategy, or intelligence.

But in today’s AI world, everyone has access to the same information, the same tools, and increasingly the same answers.

So why do some people break through… while others remain stuck for years?

The difference is not IQ.

It is Love Intelligence: the 3Cs: Care, Courage, and Connection.

1. Care: The Invisible Advantage

People work harder for those who genuinely care about them.

A manager once asked me why his team lacked initiative.
He had clear KPIs, good processes, and strong incentives.

But his team still did the bare minimum.

After observing him for a day, the answer became obvious.

He treated people like resources, not human beings.

When leaders show real care — listening, appreciating, supporting — something powerful happens.

People stop working only for salary.

They begin working from commitment.

Care transforms compliance into voluntary effort.

2. Courage: The Breakthrough Force

Many careers stall not because people lack talent.

They lack courage.

Courage to:

  • speak up in difficult conversations

  • challenge bad decisions

  • propose bold ideas

  • start something new

In business and leadership, breakthroughs rarely happen inside comfort zones.

Courage is what separates followers from leaders.

As taught in The Art of War, real strategy is not just calculation — it is the ability to act decisively under uncertainty.

3. Connection: The Real Currency

Careers do not grow through effort alone.

They grow through relationships.

Promotions, opportunities, partnerships, clients — almost everything in business flows through trust networks.

And trust cannot be forced.

It is built through genuine connection.

Connection means:

  • understanding people beyond transactions

  • building long-term trust

  • creating value for others

In other words, success becomes a relationship ecosystem, not a solo effort.

Why the 3Cs Matter Even More in the AI Era

Artificial intelligence will replace many tasks.

But it cannot replace human trust.

AI can analyse data.
AI can generate reports.
AI can even design strategies.

But it cannot replicate:

  • genuine care

  • moral courage

  • authentic human connection

Those who master the 3Cs will not just survive the AI era.

They will lead it. On 5 Mar Thur 8 to 9.30 pm, I'll discuss this in a webinar, details at here https://asiatrainers.org/lqwealth

How I Became a Fortune Teller: Leveraging NLP, Fear and Greed, and Motivational Theories

Becoming a fortune teller wasn’t part of my childhood dreams. It started as an experiment, fueled by my curiosity about human behavior and the subtle forces that drive our decisions. Over time, what began as a study of psychology and human interaction evolved into an unexpected career—one where I use the tools of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), the primal drivers of fear and greed, and motivational theories to help people uncover their paths. The First Step: Understanding the Human Psyche I was always fascinated by why people do what they do. During my university years, I studied psychology, particularly the works of Abraham Maslow, B.F. Skinner, and Victor Vroom. Their theories provided insights into motivation, reinforcement, and decision-making. But I wanted to move beyond the academic realm and see how these theories worked in real life. Around this time, I discovered NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming). This framework for understanding communication and behavior is based on the...

If Not You, Who Else?

I learnt this very powerful 5-word phrase from Singapore's highest ever box-office movie ever: "Ah Boys to Men II". In one scene, the recruits were about to start their 3-day field camp.  Their Officer-in-Command asked them, "Before we moved out, anybody not feeling well?"  All the soldiers replied loudly, "No Sir!!!" "Gentlemen", continued the Officer, "Every time the training gets tougher, one thought comes to your mind, 'Why Must I Serve National Service?' "My answer to you is, 'If Not You, Then Who Else?'" Wow!  What a powerful phrase!  If Not You, Who Else may mean: You are the most suitable person, and we can't find anyone better than you.  This is appreciation at the highest level How can you push this responsibility to someone else? I am making a request to you specifically, please don't reject my request Can you find me another person more suitable than you? Please refer me anot...
