Problem is not Machines are Better than Humans but Humans Are Like Machines

Let me begin with something uncomfortable.

Some professionals today are not being replaced by AI.

They are being exposed by AI.

Because AI can now:

write reports, create presentations, analyse data, summarise books, draft strategies

Faster. Cheaper. Without ego. On the Go

So here is the real question:

If AI can produce what you produce,

what exactly makes you human?

Not what makes you intelligent.

What makes you human?

Because if your value is only information,

you are competing with a machine.

And machines don’t get tired.

STORY – The Turning Point

When I became a full-time trainer in 2001, I believed intelligence was the key.

More models. More frameworks. More impressive slides.

After one session, a participant came up to me.

He didn’t praise my slides.

He didn’t talk about my theories.

He said:

“When you shared your failure, I felt safe.”

That was the moment I realised something profound.

People don’t remember your content.

They remember whether they felt:

Safe, respected, understood, challenged with care

That was the seed of what later became Love Intelligence.

IDEA 1 – Corporate: Leadership vs Humanoid Management (2 minutes)

Let’s go into corporate reality.

Scenario:

A team misses targets.

Humanoid manager:

pulls data, points at numbers, blames performance, sends warning emails

Efficient. Logical. Cold.

Human leader with Love Intelligence:

First — Care:

“Help me understand what’s happening.”

Second — Courage:

“We cannot continue like this. We need change.”

Third — Connection:

“How do we fix this together?”

Same situation. Different outcome.

One creates fear. One creates ownership.

Sun Tzu said the best general wins without fighting.

In corporate life, fighting looks like: pressure, shouting, passive-aggressive emails, politics

Winning without fighting means building such trust that alignment happens voluntarily.

That is strategic humanity.

IDEA 2 – Parenting: Control vs Guidance

Let’s move to parenting.

A child scores poorly in exams.

Humanoid parent:

“You’re not trying hard enough.”

“Why are you always on your phone?”

“Look at other children.”

Logical? Maybe. Effective? Rarely.

Human parent using Love Intelligence:

Care: “I can see you’re disappointed.”

Courage: “We need to improve this.”

Connection: “Let’s figure this out together.”

The Yijing teaches us something powerful:

You cannot force growth.

You align with timing.

Children are not machines.

Employees are not machines.

Spouses are not machines.

If you treat people like systems, they respond mechanically.

If you treat them like humans, they respond with heart.

IDEA 3 – Relationships: Transactions vs Encounters

Now relationships.

Today, even relationships are becoming transactional.

“I give you this.” “You give me that.”

But love — intelligent love — changes the nature of interaction.

Humanoid partner: Listens to reply. Argues to win. Keeps score.

Human partner: Listens to understand. Speaks truth with courage. Chooses peace over ego.

Real strength is not domination.

Real strength is emotional regulation.

When intelligence becomes cheap,

self-mastery becomes premium.

That is Love Intelligence.

THE HUMANOID TRAP

The danger in the AI era is not that machines become human.

The danger is that humans become machine-like.

Scripted. Optimised. Transactional. Emotionally distant.

The Yijing reminds us: Change is constant.

But wisdom is about responding appropriately — not reacting automatically.

Humanoids react.  Humans choose.

DEEP TRUTH

AI can process data.

But it cannot:

sit in silence with someone’s grief

hold tension in a negotiation

decide ethically when profit conflicts with integrity

apologise sincerely

That is where wealth now comes from.

Trust.

Trust builds retention.

Trust builds referrals.

Trust builds resilience.

And Love Intelligence turns trust into value.

CALL TO ACTION

This is why I wrote three books.

Not to dd more information.

But to protect our humanity.

1. Love Intelligence — because without Care, Courage and Connection, intelligence becomes dangerous.

2. Yijing Explained — because if you don’t understand change, you will be controlled by it.

3. Sun Tzu Sales Secrets — because winning without fighting is the ultimate human strategy.

Heart. Wisdom. Strategy.

If you want to remain relevant in the AI era,

Don’t just upgrade your tools.

Upgrade your humanity.

Because the future will not belong to better humanoids.

It will belong to better humans.

Thank you.

How I Became a Fortune Teller: Leveraging NLP, Fear and Greed, and Motivational Theories

Becoming a fortune teller wasn’t part of my childhood dreams. It started as an experiment, fueled by my curiosity about human behavior and the subtle forces that drive our decisions. Over time, what began as a study of psychology and human interaction evolved into an unexpected career—one where I use the tools of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), the primal drivers of fear and greed, and motivational theories to help people uncover their paths. The First Step: Understanding the Human Psyche I was always fascinated by why people do what they do. During my university years, I studied psychology, particularly the works of Abraham Maslow, B.F. Skinner, and Victor Vroom. Their theories provided insights into motivation, reinforcement, and decision-making. But I wanted to move beyond the academic realm and see how these theories worked in real life. Around this time, I discovered NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming). This framework for understanding communication and behavior is based on the...

If Not You, Who Else?

I learnt this very powerful 5-word phrase from Singapore's highest ever box-office movie ever: "Ah Boys to Men II". In one scene, the recruits were about to start their 3-day field camp.  Their Officer-in-Command asked them, "Before we moved out, anybody not feeling well?"  All the soldiers replied loudly, "No Sir!!!" "Gentlemen", continued the Officer, "Every time the training gets tougher, one thought comes to your mind, 'Why Must I Serve National Service?' "My answer to you is, 'If Not You, Then Who Else?'" Wow!  What a powerful phrase!  If Not You, Who Else may mean: You are the most suitable person, and we can't find anyone better than you.  This is appreciation at the highest level How can you push this responsibility to someone else? I am making a request to you specifically, please don't reject my request Can you find me another person more suitable than you? Please refer me anot...
